I have participated in locally and internationally funded projects in Kenya Marine & Fisheries Research Institute (KMFRI), a leading organization for fresh and marine water research activities.
I have developed not only enormous aquatic research experience, but also a valuable and transferable skill set in this fast-paced sector
Works at KMFRI, as an assistant research officer in Aquaculture department contributing to achievement of mariculture performance contract targets – such as introduction of newly innovated seaweed culture techniques with a view of improving the commercial seaweed production in southern coast of Kenya.
Being a trained diver I actively participate in aquatic environmental impact assessment programs and biodiversity assessment of critical coastal habitats.
Besides managing my own research and liaising with various divisions through participatory group project meetings I have developed excellent communication skills that can be utilized in developing and maintaining successful working relationships with both internal and external staff.
