KCDP Launched at KMFRI – KShs 4billion boost for the local fishing sector on 11th November, 2011

The fishing sector and others along the Kenya coast have received KShs 4 billion (US$ 40million) from the World Bank and the Global Environment Fund. The money has been disbursed through the Kenya Coastal Development Project (KCDP) to provide the coastal communities of Kenya a chance to earn more from their occupation in fisheries, forestry and other national resources with the overall objective to improve their livelihoods.
Fisheries Development Minister, Amason Jefwa Kingi launched KCDP at KMFRI, Mombasa on Friday 11 November, 2011 in a colorful ceremony attended by Assistant Ministers, Permanent Secretaries and senior Government officials from collaborating institutions and the staff of KMFRI.

KMFRI launches a new research vessel
