PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES:

    • Undertook production of the first marine resource mapping for Kenya under the sponsorship of UNEP Regional Seas Program, EAF/14 project which lasted from 1995 to 1998 and produced a GIS database and a hardcopy atlas for use in Integrated Coatal Zone Management.  The products are available in KMFRI.


    • Participated in the WWF ecoregion visioning process to identify the marine priority ecoregions in Eastern Africa


    • Participated in production of the 1st Sensitivity Mapping for Oil Spill atlas for the Kenyan coast in 2005, being a contribution towards the Kenya National Marine Oil Spill Contingency Plan, thereby creating maps and GIS database to be used by the Oil Spill Response Action Team.  The products are in custody of KMFRI, Mombasa
